1. For Buyers
There are a lot of scams on the Internet. If in any doubt about a seller either contact us for advice or simply don’t proceed with buying, and find another seller on KhmerAds. You can use the ‘Contact Owner’ button if available on ads pages to contact the support at KhmerAds regarding the item in question.
The more questions you ask the advertiser, the more you know and find out.
Use your best judgement. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Do not give advertisers your personal details until you are certain that they are genuine advertisers.
You should, if necessarily, meet the seller or advertiser in a lighted public place and always take someone with you, or at least tell a family member or a friend where you are going.
You should meet face to face to see the item and exchange money. Make sure you are satisfied with the item before handing over any money. If you want to pay for an item you haven’t seen, should use a secure payment method such as PayPal or debit/credit card.
Don’t bring a large amount of money with you. If you want to buy something expensive, you should meet with the seller to view the item first. If you are happy with it, you should go to the bank with the seller or arrange to meet somewhere safe to pay.
2. For Sellers
You should not send or hand over items before receiving payments. You should use a secure payment method such as PayPal or bank transfer to get payments, and check that the credit amount is showing as cleared funds on your balance. If a buyer pays by cheque, you should make sure the funds have been cleared first which could take up to 5 business days or longer to be cleared dependent on your bank.
You should not give buyers your personal details until you are certain that they are who they say they are and genuine buyers.
For your own safety, you should meet your buyers in a lighted public place and always take someone with you, or at least tell a family member or a friend where you’re going.
If you have any doubt about a buyer either contact us or simply find another buyer.
If a buyer offers to pay more than the price you are advertising – be aware that they may be trying to scam you.
